Jergens Shea Butter Cream: Review
Jergens Shea Butter Cream

Price at the time of purchase: $10
Quantity: 221 ml (7.5 fl oz)

I bought this particular cream 2 years back, while being in US. I bought it for some $10 that time. I have to confess that I didn’t use it very regularly despite its awesome results because I used to get distracted by other body creams and butters!! :P Anyways, now as I’ve done full justice to the product and it is about to get over, I think it is high time I review it here.

What Jergens Shea Butter cream claims to do?

It is a skin enriching cream with a high concentration of pure African shea butter, a natural source of antioxidants and vitamins. Moisturizes into radiantly soft skin.

According to the claims:

A true extravaganza for your skin! Let Jergens Shea Buter Skin Enriching Cream lavish your body with radiant softness. Infused with a high concentration of pure African shea butter and a wealth of vital nutrients, this luxurious cream instantly relieves dryness at its source, replenishes depleted moisture and enhances the performance of your skin’s own moisture barrier. Use everyday to pamper your skin with 24 hour hydration. In just two days, you will begin to see dull, dry skin transform into radiantly soft skin.

The product is made with high levels of nature’s lush moisturizing butters, Shea, Mango and Cocoa known to help hydrate, soften and heal skin.

Jergens Shea Butter Cream: Review

As I mentioned earlier, I wasn’t very regular in using the cream, because of which it lasted for 2 years. The reason was my travel and change of habitat in past two years – from chilling New York to comparatively less chilling Himachal Pradesh, and almost non-chilling Bangalore. The product was my HG body cream, while my stay in US. My facial skin is combination/oily, but my body has extremely dry (rough) skin, which becomes even worse in winters, especially my toes (not feet). Surprisingly, I’ve never suffered from cracked heels ever, despite my dry skin. Though my feet look destitute of moisture and look bad (ugly) in winters with all whitish cast, if I forget to apply moisturizer even once.
Enough of my chit chat; let’s come back to the product.

After application

My take on the product:

-          It has this thick consistency of body butters, which feels like heaven when applied on moisture thirsty skinned people like me.
-          The product, though being thick white cream, surprisingly gets absorbed quickly, without leaving any grease behind. I absolutely adore this product for its easy application and absorption.
-          It does deliver what it claims. Smooth, supple and moisturized skin. I need to mention here that not even many “highly recommended” foot creams could do wonders on my feet, where this cream did. I would have never known the true color of my feet – all moisturized and surprisingly beautiful, had I not stumbled upon this cream.
-          It has very faint cocoa butter smell, which fades with time after application, though the effect remains for a long time.
-          The quantity and the price both are justified according to my take.

What I didn’t like about the product?

Nothing! apart from the fact that it contains paraben.
The other possible con I think of is that many people might not like the typical cocoa butter and coconut kind of smell it has, which is faint enough to be ignored. I anyway love it. Apart from this, as far as I know, the product is not available anywhere in India. I’d be really grateful to you if you can tell me about its whereabouts in India. However, it is available on Amazon.

Rating: 4.5/5
