My Top 5 Makeup Products To Make Your Life Easier

It's not top five. I cheated.

BUT, what's important is that these are foolproof, fail-safe products that I can fall back on and would repurchase until the end of time (next 5 years in make-up years).

A Blender Sponge is just what you need to switch up your make-up routine. It gives those brushes a chance to be deep cleaned and curbs your urge to splurge on a new foundation. Recently, I tried the Kiko makeup blender and was swept off the floor. The dabbing sponge motion seems to set foundation seamlessly, without any stroke marks, and the smaller conical end of the sponge is perfect for setting concealer. Cheap as chips but guarantees a well blended base everytime. Can't wait to try the pro sponge which is apparently even softer.

Panda Eye Saviours.  My stash houses a MAC concealer and corrector duo for no-makeup makeup days. It may seem industrial with it's corrector and concealer duo but it's really quite an easy to apply product. A necessity almost when one shade doesn't fit those 'I spent last night gorging on House of Cards, Season 4' days. The peachy, orange shade creates an even toned based for your regular concealer to smooth on. A pink, lilac and green shade accompany the regular yellow brightener in this Claudia Louch Quad corrector, A potent product, apply it with a tapered blender to airbrush red, sallow and uneven areas of skin. Patchy skin day insurance - sorted.

Bobbi Brown makes the best bronzing blushers, I know its a huge statement to make and is kind of unfair to all those lovely blushers I have sported over the years. However, Bobbi Brown clearly takes the cake in terms of its pigmentation, longevity and quality. Being the miser I am, I wouldn't generally encourage forking out £28.50 on a blusher unless it's going to wow you.  I have two Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powders in Maui and Antigua. Technically marketed as a bronzer, these powders are downright stunning, subtle and create that wet, dewy, fuller cheeks effect. Hit pan on the entire range in 6 months? Challenge excepted.

MAC Face & Body is the best light weight foundation around. Okay, so this is the last 'best product ever' claim that I make, promise! MAC face & body was what I found after years of trial and error with foundations, hence the obsession. This formulation is the perfect blend of light coverage, without looking cakey whilst evening out the skin.. Its super long lasting (once wore it for 20 hours plus on a day trip to Paris), does not oxidise and can also be  massaged onto the limbs when sporting a knee high number. Try the smaller 50ml bottle to see if it tickles your fancy, before investing in its mammoth 120ml sibling.

Body Shop's genious invention since its cocoa body butter is their Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick. Its quiet literally universal, in the sense that anyone can wear this blackcurrant looking chubby stick and the shade will adapt based on your lip colour. On me, it turns into a beautiful blue toned, magenta and can pass as au naturale, thanks to it's pigmented yet translucent finish. It lingers on the lips for a generous time, before fading to an even, baby pink tint. What I love about this is how it wears off. Absolutely no need to have a mirror handy to check for flaking, peeling or feathering. Currently on my third purchase and I'm happy to admit that we are still in a relationship. It's Bae.
