Empties: April 2015

April wasn't the most massive month I've done in terms of empties, but the products I finished were a lot that I've been working on for a while so it's quite exciting nonetheless. There's also quite a few full-size items, and some items I'm excited to tell you about that I never got around to do a full review on. So let's jump right in!

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil 100ml ( here )
This is a long-time favourite of mine. I've re-purchased so many times I don't even know how many I've been through. This I use mostly when it's that time of the month. This really helps tone your body in that it helps deal with water weight. It really, really works. Which means do not use before bed time, cause you'll have to pee a lot! This is fantastic to get rid of any bloated feeling to be more comfortable, or to tone your body for a big event or perhaps to boost your confidence for that first day at the beach. This is expensive, but it lasts forever, and I honestly could not be without it, can't recommend it enough!

Jason Energizing Vanilla Pure Natural Hand & Body Lotion 227g ( here )
This was horrible! The lotion itself is pretty nice, it moisturises well, but the smell! This smells disgusting! I still used it up, but used it only on days when I knew I was staying home! It didn't linger and I could only smell it just as I was applying it, after that it went away. Will never buy this again, or any other Jason body lotion. I've been hugely disappointed by both I've tried. I still love Jason overall, and many products I only re-purchase by Jason, but lotions are in my opinion a complete miss.

LUSH Vanilla Dee-Lite Body Lotion 250g ( here )
This smells really nice. A nice vanilla scented lotion, unlike the one above! It's thin in texture, but it still moisturises really, really well. I found it took a bit to absorb, but nothing too bad. Overall a nice enough body lotion that I might buy again, but I don't have to.

Philosophy Cranberry Medley Hand Cream 30ml ( limited edition )
This was part of the set of three Megan ( megsmakeup8 on youtube ) sent me from christmas. I love these small sized hand creams as they are perfect to keep in your handbag. This smelled really good, my favourite out of the three, which is probably why I finished it first! This is a limited edition scent as far as I can tell, but I wouldn't mind buying it again. The formula itself isn't too amazing, it's not that moisturising and it's a bit greasy, but for the scent I'd still buy it again in a small size like this.

Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex 30ml ( here )
This is so good! It smells not just good, but incredible! It also moisturises hands really well. When I was using this I found I didn't need to re-apply half as much hand cream as I do otherwise, which is a big deal as I apply a lot every day. I'm definitely keen to get the full size of this, though the small size was perfect to leave the house with.

Hand Chemistry Extreme Hydration Concentrate 100ml ( reviewhere )
I've written a full review of this. I can't believe how long this lasted! I've used it every night since something like November and I only just finished it! I haven't even used it sparingly. I'd definitely buy this again.

Cowshed Bath & Shower Gel in Lazy Cow, Moody Cow, Grumpy Cow, Knackered Cow & Wild Cow 30ml x 5 ( here )
I've always been curious about Cowshed, but as it's not sold here I never knew which scent to go for. Therefore I bought a set of eight different travel-size ones for christmas this year and am trying them all out to see which I'd like to buy the full-size of. I'm doing a review of them all so I won't get into too much detail here, but I will say that overall I'm really enjoying them and the quality is really good. If you are looking for a new shower gel, Cowshed would be a nice option to look into!

MUJI Peelable Cotton 60 eller 210here )
I've written about these before. There's not much to say about cotton, it's not all that exciting, but this is really high-quality cotton that is super soft and feels incredible on the skin compared to basically everything else.

Fountain The Happy Molecule 240ml ( here )
Supplements are hard to review, which is why I never got around to actually reviewing this. Please take into account that supplements work differently for everyone; but my experience with this is really good! This actually does seem to put me in a bit of a better mood! I have a bit more energy, have a bit more of an easy time staying positive and everything feels just a bit.. lighter. I can't explain it. I thought it was just a placebo effect, but since finishing this I've noticed quite a difference. I'm by no means a negative person normally, I always keep a positive mind, but this enhanced that even more. I'm definitely going to be buying this again!

OPI Crystal File here )
I've had this for quite a while. They are supposed to "last forever" and with washing it with warm water after each time I used it I've had it for a few years. It's still ok, but there's something about keeping a nail file for long I just don't like, so I'll be replacing it. I'll say I really loved this though, it's good quality, absolutely! It's efficient, but noticeably gentler on the nail than a lot of other files. I would purchase this again, but I haven't been able to find it so I've bought another brand of glass nail file.

Clarins Rebalancing Fragrance 100ml ( here )
This I've used as a room spray and it's really good for that. It does have a nice soothing scent that calms the mind. I'm not sure if I'd re-purchase, I'd rather buy an actual room spray I think, but it was nice and I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Carven L'Eau de Toilette 1.2ml ( here )
I have the full-size of the regular Carven that I really like and enjoy, but this one didn't really win me over. It's quite a generic and boring citrus-type scent. It's definitely nice enough, and I didn't mind using this sample, but it's not something I'd go out and buy. Considering I've got 19 full-size perfumes already, it needs to be truly special to wow me these days.

Burberry Body Eau de Toilette 2ml ( here )
I really like this fragrance and have since it got released, but never got around to purchasing and I'm not quite sure why. It's a lovely scent, very office-appropriate. It's got a musky vanilla base with more fresh top notes. It's very nice, but I've already got 90ml of Burberry's My Burberry which I find kind of similar, so I don't see myself buying it for a while still. The bottle is goorgeous though!

Jurlique Herbal Recovery Mist 100ml ( review - here )
I really loved this. It made my skin feel so good, it smelled amazing and gave a nice soothing effect overall as I got ready for bed. I wish they'd change the packaging from white though, as I keep my daily skincare in a brown wooden box that doesn't really tend to get on with the white packaged products all that well! I've written a full review that you can check out if you are interested. I can't seem to locate this anywhere though, so I'm scared it might be discontinued? That's a shame if it is!

NUDE Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly 100ml ( review here )
I adored this! It smelled amazing, felt so good on the skin and kept skin bright and clear, without stripping it or being harsh. I'd absolutely love to buy another tube the next time I'm somewhere Nude skincare is available to buy! See my full review for more!

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 SPF20 Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid 40ml ( here )
I really like this, and have already got a back up I'm ready to start using. This isn't the best moisturiser ever, but it's good overall. It has a light texture, but moisturises my normal/dehydrated skin quite well, it smells good, is full of antioxidants and has an SPF20 which is a nice bonus.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Broad Spectrum SPF15 Day Perfecting Fluid 10ml ( here )
I've really loved using this when I'm just spending the day going for a walk with my boyfriend or something really low key. The type of day when you want to look a bit put together as you are walking around and don't want to feel self conscious, but you also don't feel like bothering with the whole shebang. This barely covers anything, if anything at all really, but it does seem to make skintone appear just a bit more even and it also tones down redness a slight bit. If the SPF was higher I'd consider this, but at just 15 I've found it difficult to really incorporate into my daily life. If anyone know of a similar product with SPF 40 or higher, please let me know in the comments!

Lancome Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-Illuminating Youth Activator 5ml ( here )
This is really good! It's not as good as my favourite Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum, I don't think, but that ones discontinued now anyway. I've already got a full-size of the new version of the Estee Lauder ANR Eye Serum, an Odacite one and another sample of this - so I won't be buying any eye serums for a while, but when I do I'd consider this one! This feels nice and cold on the skin, with the fantastic applicator that feels so good and cooling on the skin. The serum itself helps keep the eye area bright and less puffy. The overall effects are really nice.

Biotherm Skin Best Instant Correcting Youth-Protecting Concentrate 10ml ( Can't find online )
I have pretty much nothing to say about this. It seemed to do nothing to be honest. It has a weird consistency - a very silicone like and thicker feel, almost like a primer. I don't know what it did, or is supposed to do, but it did none of those things, and none of anything else either.

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil 1ml ( here )
I really love this! I've got an overwhelming amount of face oils going at the moment, so I'm still putting off buying this, but at some point it will be added to my routine. It smells amazing going on and overnight it balances and hydrates the skin really well. I also love the lighter consistency of it, it doesn't feel too greasy when it's on.

Hourglass No 28 Primer Serum 5ml ( here )
I really don't like this. I thought it would be perfect when my skin was a bit more dehydrated than normal in winter, but it seemed to have no effect on that whatsoever. It smells of really cheap lemon scented cleaner which is quite surprising considering the price point of this. It also didn't do much for the finish of my foundation, or lasting power, though I don't think it's supposed to do anything on the part of the latter, but in case you were wondering. Not at all something I would ever consider buying. For primers by Hourglass, stick to the "normal" one; the Veil Mineral Primer - that one is still one of my all-time favourites!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in '4' 30ml ( review - here )
This is a gorgeous foundation and I miss it already. I won't re-purchase until I finish a few more foundations and base products, but I will definitely at some point. It gives a natural skin-like finish with medium coverage. I've written a full review of this that you can check out!

Dior Diorshow Mascara 4ml ( here )
This was my favourite mascara when I was a teenager, but when trying it here and there the last few years I have a hard time understanding why I loved it so much. It's not good as a natural type mascara as it's too obvious, and it's definitely not good for any dramatic look as it barely gives any volume.

Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara 2ml ( here )
This is much better than Diorshow, in my opinion, and using it straight after that one definitely gave it some extra points due to comparing the two. Still though, this is not one I will be buying as I like other mascaras better. It gives a nice curling effect to the lashes, is really black and also separates the lashes well. It's ok, I'd even say it's quite good, but not great, at least not for my lashes and how I like them to look!

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stains in 13 and 7 6ml x2 ( review 7 & review 13here )
I've really loved these and they are pretty much used up. I have to dip the brush back in four to five times to get my lips covered, and then I'm not even close to the full-on glossy finish, just the tint. I went to use these the other day when I noticed the scent has changed a bit, and then I realised just how old they were. Knowing I would then never use them again I decided it was time for them to go. Seeing as they are pretty much finished anyway though, I'm not really upset about it. I'd love to buy these two again, both are really stunning shades!
